THE ITEM
Matchbook cover, flattened, lower two-thirds has a faded blue background with a drawing of the front end of a red car and the words “1952 Chevrolet” and “Only Fine Cars Priced So Low!” Upper third has the name, city, and phone number of Huffines Motor Company.
THE HISTORY
J.L. Huffines opened the first Huffines auto dealership in 1924 in Denton and moved the business to Lewisville in 1927. First located in the former City Garage at Main and Kealy, the dealership moved to the corner of Main and Mill in 1932 and to Stemmons Freeway in 1959.
Purchased by the City from an eBay vendor in January 2018.
