THE ITEM
A children’s desk-chair, metal frame with wood seat, back, and desk surface. Chair is approx. 25.5 inches tall and the surface is approx. 12 inches by 17 inches.
THE HISTORY
College Street Elementary School was built in 1960 on the same site where the two-story Lewisville Grammar School stood. This chair was used when the school opened and was claimed by Jeanice Russell when replacement furniture was purchased in the 1970s or 1980s. College Street Elementary School closed in 2020 and students relocated to the new Mill Street Elementary School.
